I was poking about, adding and removing things from my front stoop listings on Elisa’s Spot, and luxuriating in the choosing of items. I really think that I should love to hear more from the blog author of Such Stuff, however the last post was in 2012. There are a great many items there that, to me, are very much worth luxuriation time spent within them. One of these, as I decided to go through December posts, was the entry for Wednesday, December 14, 2011. At the end of the posting was a link to the entire poem by W.S. Merwin, entitled Fox Sleep. Here is the link to the entire poem.
My travels have me thinking of bits and pieces of the words of a famous benediction by Robert Schuller, “And now may the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. And may God give you His peace in your going out and in your coming in, in your lying down and in your rising up, in your labor and in your leisure, in your laughter and in your tears… Until you come to stand before Jesus in that day in which there is no sunset and no dawning. Amen”
Reblogged this on Elisa's Spot.
Oh, yes, I love that benediction. Whenever I read it or say it out loud, or listen to it said out loud, I feel a wave of sweetness wash over me. A blessing, truly. So I say it, softly, back to you.
I wonder at the directed energy and what it would feel like, if a large number of people said it, and meant it, all together side by side. “Good” energy building feels very good!
I think it would move the heavens and the earth!
A portion of that benediction is from Numbers 6 in the Bible. Here it is in the King James version:
22 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
23 Speak unto Aaron and unto his sons, saying, On this wise ye shall bless the children of Israel, saying unto them,
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
27 And they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them.
